A Big HI, HELLO and WELCOME to you. I hope that you
have surfed through my site and have found it good and useful. If you think it
is a good site, then I've got news for you. I am still working on more stuff.
Soon there will be contests, message boards and voting polls. But all these will
happen only with your cooperation. So I hope you frequently visit this site and

Now let me introduce myself. I am Karthika Mohan from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. I am 16 years old and I am presently doing my 12th at St.Thomas Residential School, Thiruvananthapuram. In between my busy study schedule, web designing is what really gives me a 'break'. I started making web pages when I was 13. But I seroiusly published my first website in May, 2000. That was about Michael Schumacher, the great Formula One driver, who I admire very much. Then by early 2001, I had my next website 'Quotzilla'. It is a beautiful and extravagant collection of quotes and proverbs.
And finally by the 10th of June, 2001, I've made my third site, Taal. It is dedicated to the great dancers, singers and musical instrumentalists of India and also to the art forms of Kerala, God's Own Country. I tried to have all the great artists of India together on Taal but in vain because of the very large number of talented great artists of this great nation with over a billion people. But this is the beginning of my search for great Indian artsits.
I would like to give a very special Thanks to my one and only sister, Devi, who is my first Guru for web designing. She is, in fact, one of the few persons in the world who really appreciate and encourage me to design more websites. She is presently studying at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. Basically she is a Computer engineer.
And I would really like to say how grateful I am to my parents. My father, Mr. Mohandas, even in between his very tight schedules, finds time to comment about my work. My mother, Usha, who is a superb classical dancer herself, has helped me a lot on the work of this site. If it weren't for them, I am sure that this site would have now been my dream only!
The main reason why I am so interested in Indian music and dance is that I was born and brought up in an atmosphere full of arts. My mother started dancing at the age of 4. And now, even after having crossed 40, she has dance programs and takes active part in dance and music activities.
My sister started dancing at the age of 3. She has taken part in a very large number of programs and competitions and have won so many prizes and awards. Recently she was awarded a special certificate for having completed 15 years of rigorous classical dance training.
I myself started dancing at the age of 4. Though I havent done as many programs as my mother or sister, I had the good fortune of performing at various prestigious events and win many prizes in competitions.
After all, I am so proud to have been brought up in the kingdom of the great King, Swathi Thirunal, who was a very great music composer and used to give such great patronage for arts, music and dance. And also, I have the privilage of basically coming from Kottarakara, which is the place where Kathakali originate.
Last, but not the least, I want to express how much happy and proud I am to be an Indian. Mother India has produced many great talents for thousands of years. I wish that there are more and more to come.
